weekend thrifting fail

Well, it was a bust. Between 5 different charity shops (+ two that existed on the maps but were nowhere to be found irl) neither I nor my gf found a SINGLE thing. You know what? I swear I haven't had much luck thrifting since I was 16, it's so weird. That being said, I don't think I've EVER had luck in UK charity shops... You're a bit more likely to find something in US thrifts since they tend to be quite large but here... tiny little shopfronts that barely give you a chance to find something good that also fits.

Anyways, it looks like if I want some shorts I'm gonna have to go through Vinted... Maybe I'll grab another couple things on there too, but I hate having to pay multiple rounds of shipping lol.

All this being said, one thing we WERE successful in finding was some new eyeshadow palettes at TK Maxx! I got three new palettes, which is kind of a lot but they aren't huge ones - and I think I wont like, ever need to get anymore because between them I now have just about every color I'd ever want, including a SUPER pigmented black and a pretty good white - bye bye crappy drugstore palettes that literally faded away COMPLETELY by the end of the day yesterday!

I do have an order to pick up on Friday of a couple pairs of jeans and a shirt - not shorts, annoyingly, but they were a super good price on sale so I figured I might as well get them since I'll probably need more pants come fall anyways.

"wardrobe" page open!

Just updated the site to include my wardrobe! It currently has a tops, bottoms, and accessories section. It's not complete yet, but theres a fair amount of stuff on there. Boy are images heavy haha... I went from 0.3% to 14.7% of my free 1GB used! Theres still plenty, obviously, but I'll have to be careful lol, especially with other pages & such that I also plan to post images in. I might have to cut down my wardrobe to only "related" items in the future, like only clothes that are more gyau-ey than like... my dino tshirt... but for now theres no need!

I'll finish up working on my site for today with this post, I'm gonna go play Vintage Story with my gf! Its such a good game, definitely check it out if you like a challenge! (or not, you can play on peaceful modes...)

Actually that reminds me, I wanna add pages for games and shows & movies that I like, similar to my tunes page. maybe I'll work on one of those next...

"tunes" page open! weekend plans!

Another update already! I opened up the tunes page - its a bit basic, but I love the iPod decor I found from moota on spacehey... Theres code that's supposed to do something... like link to YouTube? But thats complicated... so I just took the idea and image, edited it, and put it in as just a plain image xD

I mostly just wanted to log the update with this post, so it will be short. However, I might as well mention my weekend plans too cuz why not! On Saturday I have my weekly run, and on the way home I'll stop at a Superdrug to get some makeup remover so I can finally mess around with gyaru makeup again (I was doing it a bit before, but the micellar water wipes I had irritated my face and didn't work very well.. and even after washing my face with my normal soap it didn't all come off ) so yeah! On sunday I'll be going out again, to a fun looking art market and then hopefully to a few charity shops. Hopefully I can find something there or else I'll have to give in to ordering shorts online :/ Wish me luck!

first blog! making of, introduction, + summer plans?

First off, if you're reading this, HELLO!! I'm so excited to start off both my blogging and gyaru journey together. Now I've messed around with websites a little bit before so I have a tiiiny bit of html + css knowledge, but there's no way this would look as good as it does if it wasn't for the template created by ribo.zone, check them out here! At the moment, this blog is the only active page on my site (besides just the like.. main page ig) but I hope to start updating the other pages too whenever I build up the confidence to post my outfits and makeup etc etc

I'd like to introduce myself a bit. I am an American currently living in the UK, I just finished my BA Illustration & Animation and will be officially graduating end of July! I am hoping to stay in the UK for a couple of years, after which I have no idea where I'll go... well I have some ideas, but it really depends on how life treats me until then (hopefully not back to the US #fml ).

But anyways... onto a more fun topic! Clothing and gyaru fashion! Well, it's summer and it's getting hot. I have... like one pair of shorts that fit me at the moment so that's something I definitely need to work on. I'll try to find some nice baggy jorts, which is what the one pair I own are, and honestly anything inbetween huge jorts and booty shorts doesn't look good on me... and I don't have the confidence for booty shorts LOL. My problem is that of course with the season, the only things on sale seem to be pants... and man are some jorts expensive! I'm hopping to do a "charity shop marathon" soon with my partner... so maybe I'll be able to find some for cheap, though charity shops never seem to be good to me. Along side that I'd like to get my hands on maybe another tank top or two... I only have a couple. I'm super heat intolerant so even t-shirts are too much sometimes
